Lionel, mortal yet eternal, of California the son,
Tumultuous, slender, carnal, indulging and reproducing,
Not saccharine, nor precipitous of either man or woman,
yet amist them all,
No more humble than arrogant.
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself.
(I am considerable, I am versatile.)
(Adopted from Walt Whitman's "A song of myself")
